Physicians agree closing golf courses is unnecessary

The past president of the Central Ontario chapter of the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) says the organization has initiated a campaign to “fight fire with fire” in an appeal to the Ontario government to reopen golf. Tom Arnott, who is also general manager and chief operating officer at the Idylwylde Golf and Country Club in Sudbury, said physicians also agree that closing golf courses is unnecessary. “There is no data that shows closing golf courses will reduce the amount of case counts or the need for ICU beds in the province,” Arnott told CBC News.
